About IAM
Welcome! We are so happy that you are interested in aiding IAM’s mission to increase vaccination access, confidence, and rates across the state of Michigan.
Building a Healthier Michigan Together
IAM (Immunization Alliance of Michigan) was formerly known as the Alliance for Immunization in Michigan (AIM) and rebranded in 2024 to reflect its clarified goals and vision. IAM is a state-wide coalition that is actively working towards becoming a self-sufficient 501c3 non-profit to provide more sustainable and equitable vaccine related information and outreach to people across Michigan.
We at IAM firmly believe that everyone regardless of age, race, ethnicity, gender, medical conditions, religion, citizenship status, native language, location in Michigan, or background deserves the ability to live long, healthy lives based on informed healthcare decision making- specifically around vaccine information and access. With this core belief, we have made vaccine equity the cornerstone of all our vaccine education, outreach, and advocacy work.
Trusted Immunization Guidelines
For decades, the safety and efficacy of vaccines have been rigorously studied and supported by extensive global research. These studies have guided healthcare professionals in developing immunization schedules based on the best available scientific evidence and public health outcomes. Evidence overwhelmingly demonstrates that vaccines are safe and have saved millions of lives and prevented tens of millions of hospitalizations in the US over the past 30 years. However, recent changes at the federal level have raised valid concerns about the objectivity and scientific foundation behind certain vaccine recommendation. As a result, the Immunization Alliance of Michigan (IAM) will continue to rely on thoroughly vetted, evidence-based vaccination schedules in alignment with the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG).
While these recommendations may differ from current federal guidelines, our commitment is to uphold the highest standards of care based on credible data and clinical best practices. We recognize that varying recommendations between states and federal agencies may be frustrating or confusing. However, we fully stand behind the schedule we endorse because it reflects the most current, evidence-based information available and is designed with one priority in mind: keeping Michiganders safe and healthy.
IAM also encourages following the standards of practice for children, adolescents, and adults.
